roger mouawad

Founder & Director

Roger Mouawad was born 'club foot', and no one suspected that one day, his feet, which were at the time turned 180 degrees inwards, would be dazzling audiences all around the world. For the first six weeks since his birth, he had to wear casts on his feet and then splints until he could walk. Until he was two, he had to wear night shoes to keep correcting his feet. Roger's dance career started at eleven when, after returning from a soccer game to pick up his sister from a jazz class, he discovered dancing and has been training as a dancer since.

Roger's accolades and talents took him over all corners of the globe from corporate shows, to live variety concerts, full scholarships and employment as a professional artist with such notable companies as Paris Opera Ballet, Atlantic City Ballet and Contemporary Company - where he performed in ballets such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dracula and The Nutcracker as a soloist and in pax de deux roles - and Carnival Cruise Lines, just to name a few. His training and dedication prepared him as a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix (New York) in 2008 and 2009, he was the semi-finalist at the 2008 Genee International Ballet competition in Auckland, New Zealand, as well as at the Tanzolymp Ballet Competition in Berlin, Germany in 2009 and semi-finalist at the McDonald's Performing Arts Challenge 2008 Ballet Scholarship in Sydney, Australia, as well as many others.

Roger's training, like his achievements in the dance world, are equally extensive, from completing the FATD's in Tap and Jazz with Honours Gold Star, to training with Hilary Kaplan at Alegria and completing RAD Ballet exams with Distinction, being awarded a full scholarship to study a diploma of dance at Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional, Lisbon, Portugal (Portuguese National Conservatory and School of Dance) and most recently graduating with Distinction in a Bachelor of Dance degree from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA) in Sydney, Australia.

While his achievements are stellar and well-deserved, Roger's success is a combination of hard-work, passion, and sacrifice seasoned with talent and charisma.  As a young man who grew in Sydney's West, near Parramatta, Roger understands that dance can help young people develop discipline and stamina to work for their dreams, no matter the field or interest. He says: "Dance relaxes my mind and helps me express what cannot be spoken. In dance, I find freedom and strength and confidence. It keeps me alive and it is this passion I want to pass on to the next generation so that they can see that you can express yourself through movement, not punches and that any obstacle can be tackled with discipline an
d focus: all qualities that I learnt from dance."

Sheridan mouawad

Director

Sheridan Mouawad comes from the western suburbs of Sydney Australia. Raised in a Lebanese home with three brothers. She was a highly active child doing after school activities like gymnastics, little athletics, swimming, piano lessons etc. But what took most of her focus was dance.
Growing up doing all genres in the dance industry, it taught her focus and discipline. Dance then lead to the study of classical singing, which helped find her foundation for voice and eventually graduated with her diploma. From studying in a performing arts school thats where she found her passion for music altogether. This is where her journey began!
As soon as Sheridan graduated, she went off on her first contract in Singapore for Universal Studios performing in the 'Monster Rock Show' as one of the leads.
Upon completion, Sheridan set her sights high jet setting all the way to the concrete jungle, New York City! Gaining her credentials and professional theatre training at AMDA NYC, 'The American Musical and Dramatic Academy'. She then jumped back on another plane taking her across Europe sitting down on London's West End with the Classic Musical 'West Side Story'!
A change in direction, Sheridan then found herself on the west coast in the beautiful Sunny California playing the lead role of Jasmine in 'Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular' at Disney's California Adventure'. After a truly magical experience at Disney, she packed her bags and did a small road trip making her first stop in the fabulous Sin City known as Las Vegas, where she was in a Hit Broadway Musical and one of the best shows in town 'Rock of Ages the Musical'!
Then the bold decision was made to move back to the big apple and push to further her career and enhance her talent! "I wanted to be in the city where musicals are created, and where I can be apart of the creative process!" Since living in NYC, she has had the honour of being apart of multiple developments and creative processes including her debut on Broadway with Cirque Du Soleil's 'Paramour'!
Upon the closing of 'Paramour', Sheridan had the unexpected offer to join the Chicago company of HAMILTON. "The contract allowed me to live and experience a completely different city and meet some amazing new people." But during this period of time a lot of personal life events occurred that respectively allowed Sheridan to take the time needed in order to mentally and emotionally prepared to continue with her career.
After a well needed break with family in Australia / Lebanon, Sheridan was offered a position with the original company Hamilton 'AND PEGGY TOUR'! "When this opportunity came about, it definitely intrigued my interest as I would work alongside Lin Manuel Miranda as 'Hamilton' in his home town in PUERTO RICO!"
BUM BUM BUM..... COVIID
Time spent at home due to COVID has allowed Sheridan to work on new projects such as writing the curriculum for 'Dance Worx Australia Kids' and partnering with her brother with the company Dance Worx Australia. Also kickstarting her personal music adventure that she has been working on since her journey began whilst also appearing in TV Commercials! across Australia!

Look out for Sheridan's new music releasing soon!
